an LSU safety blitz or a corner coming off of the edge?
Granted, with recent front sevens, the need hasn't been as great. But dayum!
QBs seem to get too comfortable without that implementation or even threat of it.
Chief may be over-compensating for '3rd & Chavis.'
I remember seeing one where the cb that blitzed ran right past Tj Yeldon leaving him wide open
It's actually pretty common in our defense. Mathieu made his name off of that blitz off the edge. This year, Eugene did it quite a bit. The problem is that we seem to telegraph it when Eugene comes in. Kind of obvious what he's going to do. Imo, we need more disguised CB blitzes with one of the every down guys. A little bit of suprise with it. That said, I'm not one to question Chavis too much. He's probably a College HOF DC.
I'd like to see Loston or Thompson in that role next year. As said, it was telegraphed with Eugene in the game and really Micah wasn't effective in that role and even less so when he tried to cover.
